Two sisters tackle the topic of AIDS in a new documentary.
The gist of the new documentary, "Please Talk To Kids About AIDS," is this: A 6- and 4-year-old go with their parents to the International AIDS conference in Toronto, and they (not their parents) interview physicians, gay activists, condom distributors, sex toy salespeople and transgender attendees to get the scoop on AIDS and sex.

These girls are way to young to be talking about sex. Their little minds can’t possibly wrap around such a huge topic. I do think all kids need to learn about sex and aids but there is an age appropriate for such a talk. I would say start talking to them about it at 11 or 12 years unless some reason comes up where you need to talk about it earlier. It just seems to me if you talk to them as young as those girls are it takes away their childish innocence.

Do I WANT to talk to my kids about AIDS at 6 years old? Of course not. But it’s a moot point, for their sake, I have to. That being said, I do NOT think it’s approprite to have 6 year olds interviewing condom distributors.

I don’t know if maybe this one went a little far, but children should know about AIDs because in this day and age we have children growing up with AIDs.
