Dare to Wear Shorts

Don't think you can pull off wearing shorts this summer? Think again. We can show you how to wear them so you'll never want to take them off.

Five ways to wear shorts for five different body types.

If you're petite...

Create the illusion of longer legs by wearing shorts with a shorter hemline. For super long legs, add a pair of high heels (but wear a more conservative top, so you don't look too hoochie). How about these from Express? $44.50
If you're tall...

Tall women look totally chic in mid-thigh or knee-length shorts, which complement and flatter the proportions of long legs. If you chose them in a neutral shade that matches your skin tone, your legs will go on for miles and miles. We like these from JCrew $42
If you have hips...

Flatter your curves without calling too much attention to the hips by steering clear of narrow, form-fitting shorts. Instead, opt for straight-legged shorts that fall straight from the hips. Cuffed shorts are a great option, like these from VS. $25
If you have a belly...

Take the attention off your midriff by wearing tapered, sharply cut shorts with more voluminous tops, such as a loose-fitting camisole or peasant top. We think these from AE are cute. $34.95
If you're bottom-heavy...

Steer clear of shorts with pockets, they add extra volume. Look for shorts with a little extra fabric in the back and sides so you can be comfy.Check out these from Swell. $42

Because I have recently gained some weight, i buy guy’s shorts. They can be cute with a t-shirt and flipflops and they are usually a little longer. These are good pointers, just use your man’s shorts though

What if you have larger legs?? Most of those styles do not flatter someone who has heavy legs. And when are the models going to look like real moms? Most of the moms I know are not a size 2 with stick bodies.

Are you kidding me? Not everyone wants to buy a pair of $44 shorts, I can put 10 gallons of gas in my car with that. Try using some real models to fit the short description! Look at the model for the “bottom heavy” picture, those shorts are about to fall off her barely there hips! her legs are about as big as my 9 yr. olds! Look at the girl they use for “hips” that model has no hips she has a boy figure. How can we get a real idea of how these clothes look like on real women????
