I'm Not Always Green ... So Stop Judging Me!

Can someone please tell me when being green turned into a competitive sport? I'd really like to know, because I am sick and tired of tree-huggers looking down their perfect (surgically enhanced) noses at me because I don't drive a hybrid, don't don't have piles of organic matter rotting in a can in my kitchen, and forget my reusable cotton bags in the car most (read: all) of the time.
